Evangelism Explained $5.00
“We need a move towards “Didactic Evangelism”, especially in traditionally Western Christian countries”, the author claims. The traditional methods of the “quick one-off” presentation followed by the “sinner’s prayer” is less effective today due to rising levels of Biblical illiteracy. A more “didactic” or teaching approach to evangelism, though more labour intensive, is proving much more effective.

Topics: Belonging (Assurance of salvation); Sharing (Outreach);    Listening (Bible reading): Relating (Personal relationships); Asking (Prayer); Having (Place of Money).

Another suggested follow-up to the “Christianity Explained” course, even for those who are not yet convinced Christians, but who indicate they would like to do more. Many people, including long-term believers, have little idea that there is a logical plan in the Bible, going back to Abraham. “The Bible Explained” presents an over-view of this plan in just 8 weeks, using the theme of “Seven Great Journeys”:

Introduction             “From Creation (Gen 1-3) to New Creation” (Rev. 21-22)
The First Great Journey Noah
The Second Great Journey Abraham (From Ur to Caanan)
The Third Great Journey The Exodus (From Egypt to the Promised Land)
The Fourth Great Journey The Exile (To Babylon and back)
The Fifth Great Journey Jesus (From heaven to earth and back)
The Sixth Great Journey Paul and ‘Acts’ (From Jerusalem to the World)
The Seventh Great Journey Our journey to heaven

However, each one hour session is sub-divided into two half-hour “episodes”,  so the course can be used in two ways:
a)            As eight one-hour sessions with a break in the middle.or…
b)            As  sixteen half-hour presentations.
I Feel God is Calling Me $17.95
The author, Michael Bennett, when in Bible College, found many fellow students saying “I feel God is calling me...into the ministry… to be a missionary...to return to secular employment...etc” Feeling nothing, he set out to examine the use of the term “call” in the Bible, and especially the often used “feeling called.” His radical discoveries changed his own life direction, and will challenge traditional evangelical perspectives. Article - “Was Ramasses II the Pharaoh of the Exodus? $3.00
If so, then there is a serious problem for Bible believing Christians.  All archaeologists who have examined the ruins of Jericho agree it was an un-occupied rubble for at least 150 years before Ramasses’ time. This discrepancy is often exploited by opponents of the Bible to demonstrate its inherent  lack of historical trustworthiness. The author argues strongly in this article for an earlier Pharaoh.

Article - “Matthew 5:19. The Bible’s most neglected verse” $3.00
All evangelical Christians agree that the Law, in particular the Ten Commandments, cannot justify us before God. The Law shows us we are sinners, and we must go to Christ for cleansing. But once we have become Christians, does the Law still have a role to play in the work of spiritual sanctification? Some say yes, some strongly no! In this article, the author argues for the verse that convinced him to the yes side.  But then what to do about the Sabbath commandment? Is 9 out of 10 OK with God? A fresh look at an old thorny problem.

Article - “What St. Paul really said” by N.T.Wright . $3.00
N.T. Wright, who is not a liberal, is challenging traditional evangelical understandings for “justification” and “righteousness”. In this critique the author remains unconvinced.
